Our services are provided for local hub and general aviation airports and include pavement and utility design for landside and airside facilities including taxiways, runways and aprons; lighting and navigations aids; environmental permitting; and quality assurance / quality control oversight of construction.

Our 30 plus years of experience is broad and varied, ranging from local municipal capital programs funded with both local and Federal aid to State Department of Transportation administered projects. Starting with the scoping study phase to identify bridge type alternatives and roadway alignment variations to the preparation of detailed plans, specification and estimates (PS&E), our staff will guide you through the lengthy and arduous permitting, design, bidding and construction process.

Maintaining metropolitan New York’s complex commuter rail and subway systems in a state of good repair and to also support their capital program utilizes our varied multi-disciplined staff to innovate and deliver economic solutions. Solutions to ensure the longevity of the rail and transit infrastructure, especially the heavy civil components, necessitate a level of creativity and imagination that our professional staff delivers time and again.

Marine facilities are subjected to a harsh environment and require design approaches and materials that can stand up to these degrading conditions. Our structural and geotechnical engineers combine their knowledge and experience to design the bulkheads, loading docks, piers, jetties and relieving platforms that support the marine commerce that depends on their continued functional availability, even under the most harshest of conditions.

As with any structure, a well-executed subsurface geotechnical exploration program is a key element in successfully planning a tunnel. We combine the capabilities of our geotechnical professionals with our infrastructure design and construction management groups to deliver total services for the planning, permitting, design and construction of major tunnel and underground structures. Tunneling methodology that’s incorporated into the bid documents is selected to best suit the geologic conditions. The development of instrumentation monitoring programs focuses on the safety and preservation of existing structures along the tunnel route, incorporating data recording and wireless technology to provide real time monitoring performance. Constructability issues such as pre-cast vs. cast in place concrete for tunnel lining are evaluated to optimize compatibility with tunneling methods. During construction our seasoned and experienced staff focus on the administration and technical supervision of a project to ensure timeliness and cost control.
