OUR CULTURE

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Tectonic, we welcome and value employees, subcontractors, and vendors of all backgrounds and experiences and believe that an inclusive engineering process fosters a superior user experience by addressing the diverse needs of all people.

We promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in our corporate culture through employee engagement, training programs and recruitment. We recognize that the creation of inclusive environments can only happen when they reflect the work of, and address the needs of, individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.

Tectonic is pursuing several strategies:

  1. Building relationships with local and national organizations to diversify our talent pipeline; this includes recruiting and hiring BIPOC, LGBTQAI+, women, veterans, people with disabilities, and marginalized professionals.
  2. Fostering an inclusive and flexible work culture to make employees feel respected, valued, and empowered, which enhances the employee experience, engages staff, and supports a sense of belonging.
  3. Working with owners, partners, and the A/E/C community to expand DEI in the design and construction of the built environment.
  4. Engaging in projects that support and provide opportunities for MWBE, SBA, and Section 3 Certified businesses that also benefit marginalized populations within our communities.
  5. Developing new initiatives and metrics in our business to continually evaluate and improve diversity, equity, and inclusion at Tectonic.

We encourage all to bring their authentic self to work, so that Tectonic can fully embrace their knowledge, skill set, and experiences to create a positive work environment and maintain our quality and service standards.

Empowering Communities, Embracing Responsibility

At Tectonic Engineering, we believe that being part of a community means more than just conducting business—it’s about giving back, supporting local causes, and making a positive impact on the lives of those around us. We are proud to share our commitment to social responsibility and community support through various initiatives and partnerships that have touched the lives of many in our communities.

Supporting Local Charities: We are passionate about making a difference, and that’s why we proudly support a diverse range of charities in the communities we serve. These incredible organizations play a vital role in uplifting our community, and we are honored to be able to contribute to their missions. Some of the charities we have supported include Stewart Military Appreciation Picnic 2023, Habitat Newburgh, NJ Alliance for Action, Newburgh Armory, Cornwall Central High School, St. Jude, Storm King Fire Engine Company #2, Wounded Warrior Project, Vision Hudson Valley, Town of Warwick, and Yonkers Historical Society.

Toys for Tots and Food Bank Contributions: The holiday season is a time of giving and sharing, and at Tectonic Engineering, we take this to heart. Each year, we participate in the Toys for Tots program, collecting toys for less fortunate children in our community, spreading joy and smiles during the festive season. Additionally, we are committed to fighting hunger and supporting families in need by regularly contributing to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. We also provide our employees with the option to contribute to these noble causes, amplifying the impact we can make together.

Honoring Veterans with Hudson Valley Honor Flight: At Tectonic Engineering, we hold the utmost respect and gratitude for the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces. As a gesture of appreciation, we proudly support the Hudson Valley Honor Flight organization through our Patriot Sponsorship. This initiative allows veterans from the Hudson Valley the opportunity to visit the memorials in Washington, D.C., honoring their service and sacrifices.

Our Promise: As a leading engineering company, we understand that our success is intrinsically tied to the well-being and prosperity of the communities we serve. That’s why we will continue to invest in initiatives that support education, social services, veterans, and more. Together with our dedicated team and compassionate community partners, we are committed to building a brighter future for all.

At Tectonic Engineering, social responsibility is not just a buzzword; it’s a driving force that shapes our actions and decisions. We invite you to join us on this journey of positive change and impact. Together, we can create a community where everyone thrives.
