Tectonic is providing comprehensive Construction Management and Inspection Services for the monumental rebuilding of eighteen (18) electrical infrastructure sites that power New York City’s expansive metro and rail transit network. This complex $75 million project delivers extensive repairs and upgrades to twelve (12) critical Circuit Breaker Houses (CBHs), three (3) Substations, and three (3) Fan Plant Electrical Distribution Rooms (EDRs) across the metro region.
These facilities constitute the heart of the transit power system – without them, the trains don’t run, stations go dark, and communications fail. After decades of heavy use, they require urgent rehabilitation to handle soaring electricity demands and ensure the region’s economic vitality. Tectonic is providing construction management and inspection services to coordinate all facets of this intricate rebuild project per MTA guidelines and procedures. Our expert staff are interfaced with a diverse project team encompassing civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, traction power, environmental, and other specialty engineers to integrate complex interdisciplinary work.
