ALTA/NSPS Surveys for New Jersey U.S. Coast Guard Facilities
U.S. Coast Guard
Shark River & Townsend Inlet, New Jersey Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
June 2020
Tectonic performed ALTA/NSPS surveys of two U.S. Coast Guard facilities located in Shark River, NJ and Townsend Inlet, NJ. Both were surveyed because of ongoing concerns with the location of their property lines.
In Shark River, the neighbor built a wooden bulkhead along the easterly property line, and it was suspected that it was over the property line. Tectonic was able to confirm it was over the property line by more than 3 feet. The property line was difficult to determine because of multiple old water grants that were recoding at the New Jersey DEP. In Townsend Inlet, the client wanted to identify whether the sidewalk around the perimeter of the property was on U.S. Coast Guard property or within the public right-of-way. It was determined the entire sidewalk was in the public right-of-way.
Tectonic also performed construction layout for a new driveway, parking area, and guard shed at the U.S. Coast Guard’s Sector Delaware in Philadelphia, PA. The layout was for the U.S. Coast Guard to review and ensure there was adequate room for the new improvements.
