Tectonic provides multi-discipline engineering services under separate agreements requiring environmental, geotechnical, surveying, structural, mechanical, controlled inspection, materials testing, environmental inspection and testing, and construction inspection and management.  The construction projects under these contracts consist of construction and reconstruction of various recreational facilities, synthetic turf and conventional ball-fields, roofing, tree planting, playgrounds, comfort stations, swimming pools, environmental remediation, wetland remediation, boardwalks, bike paths, bridle paths, band-shells, boathouses, running tracks, hockey rinks, waterfront construction, etc.

Tectonic leads full cooperation and coordination efforts among Agency, designers, contractors, supervising consultants and other jurisdictional agencies; and ensured the project team addressed the essential elements of the project and at the time best suited to avoid delays.

Also awarded several playground projects calling for the installation of groundcover, permeable concrete pavers, new concrete pavement, granite blocks, flood lights, steel fences, backed and backless benches, bleachers, planted areas with trees, shrubs, substructures, utility lines, roads, walks and curbs, in addition to construction of new comfort stations which are wheelchair accessible and compliant with current energy conservation construction code of New York State.

  • Nostrand Playground: New asphalt, six basketball courts, handball court, playground, sports field, comfort station on Foster Avenue, patch concrete sidewalks, landscaping, Brooklyn (B250-117M)
  • Comfort Station and Dutch Kills Playground, Queens (Q218-216M)
  • Construction of asphalt fields within Travers Park (Q303) and Staunton Field (Q503) and the construction of a Plaza within the 78th Street ROW, Elmhurst, Queens
  • Sandpiper Playground, Queens involving the complete redesign and reconstruction of the playground including new play equipment, water play features, seating, fencing, planting, drainage and water supply, installation of shade structures, repair of existing concrete bus shelter and improvements to the concrete sidewalk pavement.   • City Line Park, Brooklyn (B141-116M): Construction of a multipurpose synthetic turf field, skate park, basketball court and adult fitness area
