Tectonic provided Resident Engineering Inspection (REI) services to supervise and inspect the construction of sustainable green infrastructure in the Flushing Creek CSO tributary area in compliance with NYC’s Green Infrastructure program and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection. The green infrastructure improves stormwater management by utilizing natural or similar systems to manage stormwater runoff and reduces Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) discharges into NYC waterbodies in a cost-effective way.

Community involvement and a Community Liaison coordinating with area businesses, residents, NYFD, NYPD and MTA NYC Transit is critical to mitigate the impact on the community during construction and minimize quality of life disruptions. Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) Plan was implemented to ensure safe, clearly delineated work areas; and provide both pedestrian and vehicular access.
