Tectonic is part of a joint venture team including STV Incorporated, & LiRo Engineers (SLT JV) is providing construction management services for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on the $13 billion redevelopment program at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in Queens.
The main responsibilities of the team are overseeing and managing on-going JFK Redevelopment construction work on a continuous full-time basis. The team support the Port Authority’s Senior Management with a broad range of duties to manage the cost, schedule and quality of the airport redevelopment including resident engineering, contract administration, planning and scheduling, coordination, cost control, technical inspections and materials testing.
The program consists of significant reconfiguration, transformation and expansion of JFK facilities to meet the standards of the 21st century and increase its capacity to serve the community of users at large. The master plan includes:
JFK International Airport is an indispensable international gateway for global travel into North America and is recognized as the sixth busiest airport within the United States. The airport services nearly 62 million passengers a year, generates over $51 billion in sales and supports 280,000 jobs. JFK currently has six independently operating terminals with 128 boarding gates overall, four runways and over 30 miles of roadways traversing its 4,930 acres. Each terminal has its own Departure and Arrival Halls and all are accessible by New York City’s extensive transportation system, including the AirTrain and shuttle buses.
