Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services for the Rehabilitation of 10 MTA New York City Transit Subway Stations under 3

Under this assignment (MTA C&D’s Consultant Construction Management Contract 1633, Task Order #6), Tectonic is providing Program Management, Design Compliance, and Construction Compliance services for the following design-bid-build construction contracts, which are all focused on achieving state of good repair at both above-ground and below-ground stations on three separate subway lines on the MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) system:

Package A: Station Rehabilitation at 3 locations on the Jamaica Line (A-35305): Consists of three Stations: 75th St, 85th St and Cypress Hills, under construction contract A-35305. The scope for this package includes rehabilitation or replacement of various structural and architectural elements as a part of station renewal to achieve a State of Good Repair (SOGR). Major elements of the project include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Structural steel repairs of elements such as track stringers, floor beams, repair of top flange of thru-span girders and other supporting members within mezzanine and platform areas at all 3 stations.
  •  Concrete spall and crack repair, concrete toping at ADA boarding areas, platform edge and rubbing board replacements.
  •  Replacement of electrical components and fixtures on the platform, mezzanine, and stairs, including various conduits.
  •  Windscreen replacements.
  •  Replacement of street, mezzanine, and platform stairs and any impacted sidewalk areas.
  •  Installation of PSLAN at 75th St. station.
  •  Tile work and substrate repair.
  •  Surface cleaning & painting.


Package B: Station Rehabilitation at 5 Locations on Broadway/7th Avenue Line (A-37217):
Consists of five Stations: 191st St, 145th St, 86th St, 79th St & 50th St under contract A-37217. The scope for this package includes various component repairs to achieve SOGR. Major elements of the project include, but are not limited to the following:

  •  Concrete spall and crack repair.
  •  Structural steel repairs (column & beams).
  •  Repairs to plaster and architectural arches.
  • Concrete toping for ADA boarding areas, replacement of platform edge and rubbing board.
  • Tile work and substrate repair.
  • Surface cleaning & painting.
  • Track system replacement (ties, running rail, etc.).


Package C: Platform Component Repairs at 2 Locations on the Queens Boulevard Line (A-36986):
Consists of two Stations 36th & 46th St under contract A-36986. The scope for this package includes component repairs to achieve SOGR. Major elements of the project include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Platform repairs and betterments such as installation of concrete toppings to create new ADA boarding areas, replacement of platform edges, and installation of new rubbing boards.
  • Structural steel repair at column bases and beams.
  • Concrete spall and crack repair.
  • Tile work and substrate repair.
  • Surface cleaning & painting.
  • Drainage work.
  • Doors, frames, and gate replacement.
