Tectonic was retained to provide project coordination and design services for over 40 transmission line structures.
Provided detailed structural analyses of the existing towers to evaluate capacity to support the proposed installation of antennas by various telecommunications providers, as well as for additional equipment required by Consolidated Edison. The services provided included the structural analysis of each tower, preparation of engineering reports, design of antenna mounts, cable attachments, and structural modifications, and preparation of construction drawings. Reinforcement design of the towers as needed to satisfy the requirements of current codes and standards, including bills of material and as-builts.
The work included Consolidated Edison’s and current NESC loading conditions, as well as the recent recommendations of the New York State Public Service Commission. Programs used include PLS tower.
