- 2018 - June 2022
Tectonic is a prequalified consultant in NYSDOT Region 8 to provide highway design and construction resident engineering and inspection services for Federally-funded transportation projects in municipalities. The City of Peekskill engaged Tectonic to design the reconstruction of 1,200 LF of roadway. Elements to enhance pedestrian mobility include: installation of ADA-complaint ramps, crosswalks at crossings, warrant analysis for current and alternative crossing locations, coordinating the interface with existing grade at the back edge of the installation, interface with County-jurisdiction pedestrian facilities, and establishing defined driveway locations to reduce vehicle/pedestrian conflict. To promote the longevity of the project investment, water and sewer utilities beyond their useful life will be replaced in-kind throughout the project limits.
Technical elements included topographic survey (DBE subcontract), horizontal and vertical design, MPT, pedestrian design, watermain replacement, sewer replacement, utility accommodation, design alternatives, design approval document generation, NEPA, SEQR, Department of Health permitting, publicly bid contract documents, technical specifications, public involvement, and cost estimating.
Tectonic’s construction supervision consisted of the administration of the construction contract including maintaining complete project records, certification of payments requirements, performing detailed inspection work and on-site field tests of all materials, and items of work incorporated into the contract consistent with federal policies and the specifications and plans applicable to the project.
