Walkway over the Hudson Waterfront Elevator

Construction of a new $2.3 Million, 20-story tower structure with glass elevator supported by caisson foundations and funded by the Federal Highway Administration through the NYSDOT. This steel tower with glass elevator provides access from a riverfront park along the Hudson River waterfront and rises 220 feet to the deck of the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. The area at the base of the elevator was enhanced with a lighted asphalt pedestrian walk.

Tectonic performed construction inspection and materials testing services for soils, pile installation, cast-in-place concrete, structural steel framing, and mechanical inspections for the elevator. Geotechnical services included boring inspections, geotechnical review for the foundations of the elevator, and construction phase geotechnical inspections of the drilled shaft. Tectonic also provided resident engineering services.
