CIANJ and COMMERCE Magazine Honor Tectonic as an Environmental Leader

On Friday, April 26, 2019, The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) and its flagship publication, COMMERCE Magazine, celebrated environmental leadership in the community at their first annual awards breakfast.

Tectonic and over 150 professionals in the environmental sector were honored for their environmental work done throughout New Jersey. Various firms received awards at the event and were featured in the magazine for their environmental leadership in recycling, pollution prevention, green building design, environmental conservation, energy conservation, community impact, manufacturing innovation, and brownfield redevelopment.

Tectonic’s Senior VP and Corporate Director of Environmental Services, Peter T. Sutherland, PE, LEP, PG, contributed a case study about Tectonic’s Drone Technology Program which was highlighted in the magazine’s cover article “NJDEP, LSRPs, Drones, Case Studies, Sustainability and Environmental Law”. The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) operated by our FAA Licensed Pilots help to conduct visual assessments and produce aerial photographs for our reports. “UAV services is a less expensive alternative to manual inspections and traditional aerial inspections,” said Sutherland. As we continue to advance our services, this new Drone Technology Program has helped the environmental department complete several Visual Impact Assessments for clients to accompany traditional balloon tests, as well as visual assessments for tower installations and other land development structures.
