Tectonic Wins Engineering Award for Rte. 31 Roadway Reconstruction Project in Connecticut

Tectonic was honored by the Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers (CSCE) at the 11th Annual Achievement in Civil Engineering (ACE) Awards Ceremony in May. The ACE Awards recognizes overall contributions of Connecticut Engineers and team members, and commends projects in which significant engineering expertise or innovation is demonstrated.

Tectonic received the 2018 Transportation ACE Award for the ConnDOT (State Project #0032-0130) Route 31 Roadway Reconstruction Project in Coventry, Connecticut.

Tectonic provided construction engineering and inspection services on a section of State Route 31 from north of Stone House Road extending south past School Street in the historic district of Coventry Village. Key features of the project involved roadway reconstruction, culvert replacement, rock cutting, storm drainage and sewer reconstruction, as well as architectural finish work to improve safety conditions of the roadway. Final improvements have enhanced the overall width of the roadway and shoulders, and provided upgraded drainage, improved sightlines, smoother pavement, and roadway protection.
