Denver Water Dam Security

Tectonic conducted a vulnerability assessment of several dams and its related facilities, including a control house, power plant, intake tunnel and general reservoir access. Several dams had a total heights of over 200 feet and impoundment capacities of over 200,000 acre-feet. Tectonic performed Security Vulnerability Assessments using Sandia RAM for the analysis of dam assets, hydroelectric facility, intake, pump station and access road along the dam crest. With respect to the access road, the mitigation measures which are critical to the safety of the dam, were carefully reviewed for adequate security as well as practicality for public access. Tectonic accomplished this by performing an updated threat assessment to establish the Design Basis Threats.
