Tectonic Ranked No. 149 on the 2017 ENR Top 500 Design Firms List

MOUNTAINVILLE, NY – MAY 12, 2017

Tectonic Engineering & Surveying Consultants P.C. (Tectonic) continues to climb in rankings on Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine’s annual list of Top 500 Design Firms. This year, Tectonic is ranked No. 149, up eleven spots from 2016.

Tectonic also ranked No. 16 on the list of the Top 20 Design Firms in the Telecommunications sector for their work with transmission lines and cabling, towers and antennae, data centers, etc. This achievement has been attributed to our 30 years of extensive experience providing these services to all national carriers, tower companies, and program managers.

The ranking for the 2017 Top 500 Design Firm list is based on 2016 design specific revenue data. Positive signs of a healthy growing market can be seen in this year’s list. Taken as a group, the Top 500 firms had a record design revenue of $92.84 billion in 2016, up 1.1% from $91.81 billion, in 2015.

Tectonic Recognized For 30-Year Membership with Orange County Chamber Of Commerce

MOUNTAINVILLE, NY – November 10, 2016

The Orange County Chamber of Commerce hosted their monthly Membership Breakfast on Wednesday, November 9th at West Hills Country Club in Middletown, NY.

Tectonic Engineering & Surveying Consultants, P.C., was recognized at the breakfast for their 30-year membership with the Chamber of Commerce. Thomas Critelli, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, featured above, accepted the honor on behalf of Tectonic.

The breakfast featured speaker Ed Harrison, General Manager of Stewart International Airport/Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, discussing the Aviation Industry’s large impact on the Orange County business community and economic development. He was proud to announce that Stewart Airport will start housing DHL, making Stewart the only airport in the United States with three cargos: DHL, FedEx, and UPS. The additional cargo activity will help increase sales and traffic, and ultimately create more jobs in Orange County.

As a recent retiree from the Connecticut Department of Transportation where he most recently served as Assistant District Engineer, Mr. Mercure brings over thirty-two years of exceptional construction and management experience. Mr. Mercure was responsible for direct oversight and management on mega-scale projects including the $2 Billion I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program, the $1.5 Billion Utility Program, the $94 Million Sikorsky Bridge, and the $120 Million Stamford Train Station Improvement Program, as well as numerous other (more than 50) large-scale projects. He will take on a key role in helping improve Tectonic’s quality efforts, obtain and manage large-scale projects, and delivery of exceptional results.

Tectonic Engineering & Surveying Consultants P.C. has earned a spot on Solar Power World’s Top 500 Solar Contractors list for 2016, the most recognized annual listing of North America’s top solar contractors. Tectonic ranked #150 overall among the top 500 firms working in the utility, commercial and residential markets, and #7 on the Top 20 New York Solar Companies list, based on the total amount of installed solar capacity in 2015.

According to GTM Research, in its U.S. Solar Market Insight 2015 Year in Review, the U.S. solar market is expected to grow a staggering 119% this year. Is it forecasted that 16 gigawatts of solar installed in the U.S. in 2016 will more than double the record-breaking 7.3 gigawatts installed in 2015. The evidence of this growing market can be seen on the Top 500 list. The Top 500 firms, taken as a group, employed 133,707 people in 2015, up from 124,967 last year. Mrs. Andrea Gievers: Senior Environmental Management Analyst For Environmental Review Projects

Tectonic Engineering & Surveying Consultants P.C. welcomes Mrs. Gievers as Senior Environmental Management Analyst to oversee environmental review projects. Mrs. Gievers is a licensed Environmental Attorney and Environmental Risk Manager with experience in environmental consulting, commercial and residential real estate development, and municipal zoning. She has a Juris Doctor and Master of Studies in Environmental Law, magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School. In addition, she has an Environmental Risk Management certification with training in biomedicine, environmental insurance, remediation technology, risk management and toxicology. Recently, she successfully managed the NEPA Tier 2 site-specific process under emergency contract for NYSHCR and GOSR on the NY Rising Housing Assistance Program: Rehabilitation and Reconstruction for Residences, 1-4 units. She assigned and tracked over 10,000 applicants’ files from the start of the Tier 2 process to finish under unprecedented deadlines. She trained and coordinated administrative assistants, professional staff, and subcontractors (Tier 2 reviewers and architectural historians) consisting of hundreds of employees nationwide while creating tools, processes and training materials. In addition, she served as a technical and process advisor and performed Quality Assurance and Quality Control checks on Tier 1 Programmatic Environmental Assessments for the NY Rising Buyout and Acquisition Program; NY Rising Housing Recovery Program: 5+ Unit Residential Properties; and NY Rising Bulkhead Repair Program for Residential Properties. For a design-build commercial real estate developer, she managed various Brownfield redevelopment issues across the U.S. and Canada. Her federal experience includes preparing Military Munitions Response Program Comprehensive Site Evaluation Phase I and IIs, Decision Documents, and Remedial Investigation Work Plans and Reports with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard installations nationwide. Her diverse environmental experience included drafting and/or reviewing reports on project sites identified with asbestos, Brownfield redevelopment, clandestine drug lab cleanup, construction issues, critical habitat, environmental emergency response, environmental enforcement, fill issues, floodplains, hazardous materials transportation, historic preservation, indoor air quality issues, Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan, landfills, lead, LUSTs/ASTs, mercury spills, military munitions cleanup, mold, Native American cultural resources, nuclear contamination, soil vapor intrusion and system controls, SPCC plans, stormwater pollution prevention plans, threatened/ endangered species, and wetlands. She interned at the Vermont Supreme Court and Attorney General’s Office and served as the Articles Co-Editor for the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law. Her legal coursework included Administrative Law, Contracts, Corporations, Dispute Resolution, Environmental Law, Extinction, Indian Country Natural and Cultural Resources, Land Use, Mediation, National Security, Negotiation, and Real Property. Mrs. Gievers is currently responsible for the execution of Environmental Management and Consulting Services tasks and assignments as well as integrity monitoring issues.
